Rights Respecting School Steering Group
This group of pupils has been elected by their peers to represent them on the Rights Respecting School Steering Group. They work closely with Miss Collins to help the whole school community understand and uphold the rights of children, as outlined in the United Nations Convention on the Rights of the Child (UNCRC).
Their responsibilities include:
- Promoting Children’s Rights: Helping pupils and staff learn about the UNCRC and how it applies to everyday school life.
- Leading by Example: Encouraging respectful, inclusive behaviour and ensuring everyone’s rights are respected.
- Supporting School Initiatives: Working on projects and campaigns that raise awareness of children’s rights locally and globally.
- Sharing Weekly Articles: Highlighting a different article from the UNCRC each week to help the school focus on key rights.
Our Article of the Week: Article 3
“All actions and decisions that affect you should be based on what is best for you or any child.”
This article reminds us that adults must always think about what is best for children when making decisions that affect them.
